You are talking of the event "end of the cycle" and it happens late. Also nobody forces you to accept the end and start the event. Ah sorry, do you mean the transcendence path or the technology "telepathy"? Originally posted by Scrooge :. Originally posted by kazaddum :.

If it is worth doing then do I need to set it to outlawed, enslaved or anything like that? I am quite new to all this. The author of this topic has marked a post as the answer to their question.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic. As spiritualist the only thing you cant do with robot pop's is give them citizen rights. This leads to a small chance the robots will revolt against you.
There are a few ways to avoid this. Robots and driods dont revolt. Synth might revolt. As spirirtualist you shoud see robots as computers. Servants to your will. Synth makes them slave's to your will and all slaves seek to regain there freedom. Keep in mind that they are slave's and ensure you got the means to keep them from revolting. For example: Ships ai as spiritualist is a bad idea.
Robot armies? Support role only. Pretty much threat robots the way you threat slave's. A usefull tool that will bit you if you dont ensure your control over it. Ensure your planets and fleets are ready to crush an ai uprising and you will be fine. Remember there is a chance for an uprising. It doesnt always happen. Nor that it have to happen in your empire or caused by your synth. This idea was sparked by my most recent playthrough, when I was playing as a Materialist-Egalitarian-Xenophile empire but pursued the psionics tech tree.
Eventually I successfully pulled The Chosen One. Sounds like a reasonable course for the Empire to take, given the circumstances, so I said yes. So you can probably guess what happened next: AI uprising, shattering of my empire, saved only by the cooperation of my Federation, etc, etc. The first fix: Introduce a Spiritualist-only civic that makes it possible to give sapient AI full citizenship rights. This culture is fascinated with the relationship between cognition and the soul.
They believe that there are fewer acts holier than taking bare metal and gifting it with the Divine Spark. This means that their robot population assist will never really be competitive with a Materialist counterpart. It seems reasonable that spiritualist factions would tend to grow cadres of organic chauvinists, official theology notwithstanding.
This tension extends far beyond the ivory towers; throughout the empire there are scattered reports of protesters clashing in the streets about the status of our synthetic populace. The people are struggling to come to a consensus: Are are synthetic neighbors really like us?
Do we owe them anything? Or are they just an imitation of consciousness after all? We have chosen a path that our synthetic comrades cannot follow.
Perhaps we can part ways peacefully. How could we have let hubris lead us to betray our synthetic citizens? This talk of souls was a mistake. Tl;dr: I think it sucks that becoming spiritualist means betraying your synthetic pops and sitting on them until they become angry enough to try and destroy the galaxy.
I suggest two non-exclusive suggestions to address this: a civic that makes robots more compatible with Spiritualist empires, and a dialogue that allows spiritualist empires to peacefully part ways with their mechanical pops.

However, my robot research i just that: robots. When I complete it, it says that the conciousness is uploaded but that there is no change to the robot's behavior. Is this becuase my robot tech is not advanced enough? Does this mean if I upload them nowe and research synths later they will awaken? I def want this to happen. Has anyone else seen this?

The aliens achieved full conciousness and asked to colonize one of my worlds. As a multicultural xenophile society, I accepted. They took over a planet. Can confirm that this works without droids. It's probably a lower chance, if I had to guess.
